Early Childhood Communication Options
Our vision for a community where everyone communicates effectively starts with each person, as young as possible. From birth to age 5, children are beginning to develop their means of communicating with the world around them. Communication forms the basis of their ability to learn, express themselves, and eventually prepare for school. Each child will learn to communicate in their own unique way and CHSC is here to help them and their families navigate those options.
Early Childhood Speech-Language and Pre-Literacy Services
Early detection and intervention with speech and language issues has been shown to improve communication skills before reading and/or behavioral problems arise. CHSC clinicians provide evaluations to determine the best options for your child.
Early Childhood Hearing Services
Every baby born in Ohio gets a hearing test before they leave the hospital. If it fails it gets referred to the XYZ program.
CHSC provides early intervention services as part of Ohio’s Early Intervention program for children birth through age three who have hearing loss. The services are home-based and are offered free of charge to families.
The video below describes how Evidence Based Early Intervention works.
VIDEO PLACEHOLDER
Our early intervention program is designed to enhance the development of infants and toddlers with hearing loss. It is designed to maximize the child’s potential.
Visits with families will be provided in the child’s natural environment which is typically the home, but may be in any location of the family’s choosing. Everyday routines and experiences will be the foundation for each visit. Visits can also be provided virtually.
