Why is Project ELLA important?

Talking and listening skills are essential for a child’s communication, literacy development and readiness for school. In fact, a child’s communication skills during the first five years of life can help predict success later in life.

Project ELLA (Early Language & Literacy for All) helps ensure that children from birth to age 5 have accessto the speech and language support they need by working to remove financial barriers to care. Through this program, Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center is helping give every child in Cleveland the opportunity to build strong communication skills and a bright future.

         1. The first step is a speech and language evaluation. Call 216-231-8787 to request an appointment or click the button below.

         2. After the evaluation, if speech and language therapy is recommended, your child will begin services and be enrolled in Project ELLA.

         3. Check-in assessment after 10 sessions

In both individual and group therapy, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will work with both the child and the caregivers. Our team will help caregivers learn important tips for helping the child to develop language. This way, caregivers are empowered to implement language building strategies at home, too!
