Planned Giving

Planned giving (also called Gift Planning or Legacy Giving) allows donors to make larger gifts and bigger impacts through charitable organizations like Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (CHSC) than they could make from ordinary income.

  • Outright gifts can use appreciated assets as a substitute for cash;
  • Gifts can provide income to the donor or their representative in return for the gift; or
  • Gifts can be made payable upon the donor's death.

Tax benefits of funding a planned gift may include advantages now, later and through your estate. Your planned gift helps assure CHSC can help our clients with effective communication now and into the future. Your gift provides speech-language and literacy, hearing, and Deaf services for the people of Northeast Ohio, regardless of ability to pay.

Please contact Deborah Dey at 440-781-0932 or ddey@chsc.org to discuss your own philanthropic goals.

Donors who have made any type of planned gift to Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center are part of our Heritage Society.

Listed below are just a few ways you can make a planned gift to CHSC.

Bequests
One of the easiest ways to make a planned gift to Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center is to   name CHSC as a beneficiary in your will. There are several types of bequests:

Residual Bequest

Percentage Bequest

Specific Bequest

Contingent Bequest

Life Insurance

If you have a life insurance policy that is fully paid and no longer needed for the protection of your family, you can designate Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center as the beneficiary.

If the policy itself is given to Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center, and CHSC is named as both beneficiary and owner, you may be eligible for a current charitable income tax deduction for the "present value" of the policy.
