CHSC Honors Don Messinger for 50 Years of Board Service
Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center (CHSC) honored board member Don Messinger for 50 years of service with a special presentation at the annual CHSC donor appreciation event held at Shaker Heights Country Club on April 3, 2024.
Messinger and his wife, Sally, were celebrated for their many years of support and commitment to CHSC. Having initially become involved with CHSC when their son needed speech services as a child, they were captivated by the mission and vision of the Center: to provide communication programs and services to infants, children, and adults regardless of their ability to pay.
Messinger was invited to serve on the board in 1974. Throughout his tenure, he has played a significant role in guiding the growth strategies and goals of the Center including the capital campaign for the construction of the CHSC building in University Circle. For 50 years, he has made his commitment to CHSC known by providing sage advice as a past president, committee member, and overall ambassador.
Messinger and his wife have been inducted into the CHSC Garfield Giving and Heritage Legacy Societies acknowledging their dedication to the Center’s future and its commitment to the community.
CHSC Executive Director Dr. Jennell Vick says, "Don embodies loyalty, grace, and leadership. His commitment to the community through his engaged, steadfast service to Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center for the past half century is incredible. It is a true honor to lead with him.”
