Marla Berkowitz has become a permanent fixture on the screens of Ohioans who tune into the near-daily press conferences of Governor Mike DeWine. She's grown in notoriety and popularity because of her expressive use of American Sign Language, a visual language, sparking the creation of t-shirts, her own bobblehead, and millions of fans. In this conversation, we'll get to know more about Marla, her career as an interpreter and senior lecturer at OSU, and her lifelong advocacy for communication access in every aspect of societal life.
