Funded by a grant from The Thomas H. White Foundation, PLLC allows the certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) at Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center to collaborate with - and provide resources to - local educators of young children in the Cleveland area. Through a shared book-reading activity, the SLPs work directly with the classroom teachers in local preschools to reinforce language and literacy skills. This ensures that emergent literacy skills are strengthened even after the conclusion of the program.

CARF International announced that Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (CHSC) has been accredited for a period of three years for its outpatient Audiology, Speech and Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs. The latest accreditation is the sixth consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to CHSC.

A team of deaf and hearing actors performed a deaf theatre adaptation of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at Near West Theatre in Gordon Square on October 19 and 20, 2019. The three nearly sold-out shows were produced by SignStage – an educational program of the Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH) that incorporates American Sign Language and spoken English as a means of educating students and adults about greater communication accessibility and self-expression.
